Very helpful (2010-05-31)
I have used the pump for four months at least 4-6 times a day everyday now and it has been nice. I know that it is a double pump, but as some other customers have said using both sides at once reduces the suction. However, I can say that trying to hold onto two different cups trying to fill at the same time is difficult in itself too, so I chose to just use one side. I understand that it probably hurt some people to use it, as it did for me. The idea however is to not be in pain and not think of the controls as "let me up the power to get this done faster". It may work to do so, but you are hurting yourself in the long run. Using the low settings and uping the speed first before the suction was actually the easier way to go. I ended up expelling faster and being happier in the long run doing it that way, and I still expelled over 48 ounces a day. I only pumped and did not have my child latch on. I wish at this time that I had, because I wouldn't have spent so much time with this thing, but it has been very reliable for me. I didn't have any problems with this product other than the pre-stated fact and that it sometimes got louder because I guess of using it too long. I would recommend this product to someone else, but of course look around. I have seen it here on amazon for several different prices. I got lucky and bought it at Target when they were still handling them in the stores and it was only 100 dollars from 200 dollars.

i pump twice a day, have yet to use both sides at the same time. smart design: easy to clean, can pump into bags or bottles, comfortable, quiet.
